a place to creatively record my life, dreams, prayers & everyday moments.
Q: What is Documented Faith?
A: It is a creative way to record, illustrate, document, journal and doodle the everyday moments, Bible verses, inspirational quotes and a growing relationship with Jesus and with others in a planner, binder, art journal, notebook, on a post it note or inside and outside the margins of a journaling Bible.
Q: Why Document My Faith?
A: To develop the habit of spending time reflecting, reading, worshiping, learning and memorizing God’s word in a creative way. Each week, there is a verse specific to the theme word that we focus on.
Q: How Do I Document My Faith?
Documented Faith is about making time each day to get into God’s word. It doesn’t matter what time you do it. What matters is that take time to do it. Personally, I give God the first part of my day and He provides me with time needed during the rest of the day to get done what needs to be done.
Write It Out - Use a journal, planner or binder and write out your thoughts and prayers. List concerns and things that you are grateful for. Write out whatever comes to mind to clear out the clutter.
Be quiet and listen - Sometimes we feel like we are not doing anything when we are not doing anything but that is not true. Sit quietly.
Read - one verse at a time and study it instead of reading the next 3 or four verses.
Pray - Be really honest with God with what is on your heart. (he already knows, He just wants to hear from you)
The heart behind Documented Faith 2018’s theme is “Yes & Amen"
"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 1:20
Documented Faith 2018 is going to be a little different. Instead of having a specific WORD each month, we are going to shift the entire focus to Gods WORD, more specifically, God's Promises to us.
In 2017, we focused on a specific word and every week within that month, there was a verse associated with the word that we learned about. The weekly verses are posted here to read, reflect on, journal about and create around. WHAT you do is totally up to you. The important part is that you create a habit of getting in the word daily.
Documenting your faith journey can be as simple as writing down a verse on a card and paper clipping it to a page in your journal or Bible. That is it. Don’t over complicate the process or get caught up in the products. When we do that, we lose sight of the purpose and THAT makes us weary very quickly.
